General Tent Requirements
- Wedding Receptions
~20-25 square feet/person and assume 8 people seated at a 60” round table as well as dance floor, buffet tables, etc. - Dinner Only Parties
~10-12 square feet/person and assume the maximum of 10 people per 60” round table and no dance floor or other accessories. - Cocktail Party & Theater Style Seating
~8-10 square feet/person. Cocktail assumes a mix of people standing and sitting whereas theater style seating has chairs set up in rows as for wedding ceremonies, graduations and memorials. - Marquees
Available in 8’and 10’ widths to use as protective walkways for access to a tent entrance or for catering set-ups.

Chairs
Several different styles of chairs are available. The Chivari/Ballroom chair is one option for more formal events. It comes in white and fruitwood with a 2” foam seat in both dining and cocktail height. The most popular wedding chair is the Garden chair available in white, natural or fruitwood with a ½” pad. Samsonite chairs are generally used for informal backyard parties, meetings, graduations, etc. Chair covers/sashes are also available for all styles of chairs.

flooring
A dance floor is the most common flooring used under tents. It consists of 3’x4’ wood grain parquet panels which are secured together and finished with a metal edging around the perimeter. To calculate the size of a dance floor for a function it is generally estimated that ½ of the guests will dance at any one time. Each person dancing requires ~4 square feet. Use the chart below as a guideline.

lighting
Lighting is recommended for all evening events or in areas that require additional illumination. Four types of lighting are offered – streamer, onion lamps, bistro/café and track lighting.
- Streamer lights are placed along the inside perimeter of the tent and provide a subdued, festive lighting.
- Onion lamps (Tidewater tents only) are mounted on the tent center poles.
- Bistro/Café lighting can be installed in all tents and hang from the top of the tent to the tent sides.
- Track lighting is used when specific areas need additional illumination such as in trade shows or in a caterer’s tent.

Linens add the finishing touch to any event. The longer the linen, the more formal the look. Toppers, napkins, skirting and chair covers/sashes are also available. All linens are available in white and various colors. Standard table height is 30″.

staging
Staging can be used for wedding ceremonies, bandstands, modeling runways, etc. Our stage panels are 4’x4’x15” in height. By placing panels together, a platform can be designed to meet your requirements.
